GENERALWhat is a zine?
A zine, or fanzine, is an unofficial collection of works based on certain themes or characters. It can include art, writing, merchandise or any other kinds of fan creations by contributors participating in the zine. The Rocket Science zine will explore the relationship dynamics between the TF2 characters Engineer and Soldier.What will be featured in this zine?
Art (illustrations/SFM), writing, digital merch, and even pictures of crafts and cosplay!How many contributors are you accepting for this zine?
Rocket Science is open to anyone and everyone who wants to take part. We do not plan to restrict the number of contributors or pages in the zine since it will be a free digital release.I have no previous experience in zines. Can I still take part?
Of course! We welcome you to join us regardless of your past experience in other zines or community projects.Will this zine be for profit and/or for charity in any way?
This will be a 100% free zine for anyone to view, download and enjoy. There will be no money, funds, profits or donations whatsoever involved in the whole project.What is the rating for this zine? Is it SFW?
This is a SFW zine. The maximum ratings for any featured submission will be PG-13 for visual works, and T (Teen) for fics and other written works.Is there a minimum age requirement to participate in this zine?
Although the zine will be SFW, we will require all contributors to be aged 16 and above during their applications.COMMUNICATIONSHow does the Discord server for this zine work? Can I join it if I'm not a contributor?
The Discord server for this zine will be open to contributors only for the duration of this project (until the zine is released).Does this mean I have to use Discord if I plan to take part in the zine?
Yes. We will be using Discord as our main communication method with all contributors, including announcements and other important project updates.CONTRIBUTIONSWhat is the difference between spot art and spreads?
A spot art piece is a small- to medium-sized illustration that will be incorporated to the zine along with other spot art pieces. It can be simpler than a full-page illustration in that it might not have a highly-detailed background, shading, etc. Think of it as an insert illustration in a fic or even a sticker!A spread is a more elaborate piece that will occupy either a whole page or two. It generally requires more detail than spot art.Are other TF2 characters allowed in this zine?
Yes. These can be any canon character from the game, official comics or videos. Fan characters (OCs, sonas etc.) will not be allowed.Are other TF2 ships allowed in this zine?
No. We will only be focusing on Helmet Party (Engineer and Soldier) in this zine. This also means that polyamorous ships of Engineer, Soldier and any other character(s) are not allowed.Is any type or genre of Helmet Party allowed in this zine?
Of course! Be platonic, funny, angsty, subversive or anything else that defines how you see this ship. Just remember that this zine is SFW and you're good to go.Is there any specific theme for this zine?
Nope, as long as it features the Helmet Party ship. Contributors are free to work on their own theme and idea, but will also be given a list of thematic prompts for inspiration.CONTACTI have other questions regarding this zine. How can I contact the organizers?

Hello, everyone! I’m Aifas, 26, they/she/he, also known as Mod Coconut during Helmet Party Week events. I’ve previously worked as a writer in the Tales of Teufort zine, and as a writing moderator in Intruder Alert: A TF2 Spy Zine.I’m very glad to see this project finally come to life! Howdy, I’m Distasty, old as the hills, she/her. I’ve been a contributor to a couple TF2 zines as a writer and artist, and came aboard as a mod to help out with the artistic side of this project.I hold a giant soft spot for TF2, and I firmly believe it is the fans that single handedly continue to pump life into the over a decade-old series. Because of this belief, I try to contribute and support fan projects whenever I can. (also Soldier is hot and Engie is cute =uwu= )

Hey y’all! I’m mich (lower case m only), 24, they/them. I’m also known as dontneedadispenser in the TF2 fandom.I started my TF2 blog in 2015, but in 2020 I created the dontneedadiscord TF2 community.
